How Does This Relate to the World Around You?
The Assignment

Research the geologic history of the U.S. National Park you chose to show your understanding of the geology we have been studying.

Build a Model showing the geology of the park.

Develop a classroom presentation, using a combination of 3-d Model or Web 2.0 Tools, such as Glogster, Animoto, XtraNormal, and others you may know, and either Video, PowerPoint, , Poster, or other, that displays your research.
Specifics
To complete this project you must:

Choose a National Park from the list during class.

Research the National Park in class and at home.

Use the National Park Project Research Packet found in the links to the side.
Helpful Hint:
When using internet research tools, such as Bing and Google, use the search
”geology of _______ (your park’s name)”
to find your information.
Hands-On Activity

Build a model of the park’s surface and underlying rock layers. Be sure to identify both land and water features that are present.

Label the features clearly – use flag markers on the model

Locate your park on a map.

Develop and present to the class a presentation approach to share your project with the class.
